They operate with a rapidly spinning flail rotor, which makes them effective for fine grinding and shredding, especially when a high throughput and fine output size are needed. However, due to the high speed, wear on parts like flail mallets can be significant—hence the benefit of carbide overlays. Can be produced in 2 different thickness variants, 61 mm thick and 55 mm thick. 61 mm thick has obviously longer lifetime. Features a durable carbide overlay with embedded carbide particles for extended wear resistance.
